Peaceful protests part of democracy: India conveys UNHRC to develop better understanding of India

India encouraged the UN's human rights body to develop a better understanding and appreciation of the freedoms and rights that are guaranteed and protected in a vibrant democracy like India. India's strong statement came after UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet expresses concern over Delhi. This came during ongoing 43rd Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. Bachelet also spoke about the situation in J&K.
