India will be Open-Defecation Free by 2019
One of the biggest flagship projects launched by Narendra Modi, to make India open-defecation free (ODF), is most likely to be wrapped up before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections take place, government officials insist. Although urban affairs ministry is confident to complete the target of building India ODF a year ahead of the October 2019 deadline, the sanitation ministry is keen to reach the target by December 2018.
