Supreme Court judge recuses himself from hearing plea challenging Omar Abdullah's detention

Supreme Court judge Justice MM Shantanagoudar today recused himself from hearing the plea filed by Sara Abdullah Pilot challenging the detention of her brother and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act. Justice Shantanagoudar said he will not participate in the matter without citing any specific reason for his recusal. The bench confirmed that the plea would be heard tomorrow.
