In a major setback for the Gupkar alliance that comprises Mehbooba Mufti's PDP and Farooq Abdullah's NC, eleven PDP leader and their supporters joined BJP in Jammu and Kashmir. PDP zonal president Sukhdev Singh; Subedar Gian Chand; Prithvi Raj Khokhar; Capt Ram Lal Choudhary; Bhagwan Dass; Tara Chand, Bachan Singh; Ajay Choudhary; Mohinder Singh; Sushil Kumar; and Dr. Shadi Lal joined BJP in the presence of Ravinder Raina.
