In a major decision to curb the sexual assault cases against women, Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid gave his not to the ordinance approving the death penalty for rapists. The ordinance was green signalled amid the nationwide protests that swept through Bangladesh after several rape cases recently. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina while amending the law said a man "turns into an animal" when he is a rapist.
