Delhi reported 1,699 rapes, 2,186 molestation cases in 2020

Delhi recorded a slight decrease in rape cases and molestation cases in 2020 from 2019. However, the decrease was not satisfactory as 1,699 rapes, 2,186 instances of molestation and 65 cases of sexual assault against children were recorded in 2020. Whereas in 2019, 2,168 rapes, 2,921 molestation cases and 109 cases of sexual assault against minors were recorded. On average, a rape is reported every 5 hours in the capital.
