MEA deliberating over UK's request to see chopper deal scam accused

The British High Commission has requested the Ministry of External Affairs to grant consular access to Christian Michel, who is the alleged middleman accused of bribing politicians and officials in connection with the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland chopper deal scam. Michel was extradited from UAE to India two days ago and sent to a five-day custody of the CBI. MEA is examining the request and will revert soon.
