France suffered a historic loss after robbers broke into the headquarters of the Miss France organising committee in Saint Cloud, Paris overnight and stole 40 dresses worn during the national finals. The contest's organiser for half a century until 2010, Genevieve de Fontenay was heartbroken as the figure-hugging white gown worn by its first-ever African-born winner, Sonia Rolland, in 2000 was also stolen.
