Nearly half of complaints with NCW were from Uttar Pradesh in 2017-18

The National Commission for Women revealed that nearly half of the complaints from across the world registered with it in 2017-18 were from Uttar Pradesh. The complaints were related to the violation of women's right, harassment, & abuse. The data shows that a total of 403 women from several parts of the land complained about forceful marriages without their consent. From 2017 to 2019, 15, 381 complaints were received.
