Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski has been accused of rape by a Frenchwoman. The woman alleged that Polanski raped her in 1975 when she was 18 years old in a Swiss ski resort. The fresh allegation has put the director under the scanner once again after he fled from the US to France in 1978 after admitting the statutory rape of a 13-year-old girl. The woman said that the rape was "extremely violent".
