Riccardo Spagni, the former developer of Monero, a privacy-focused cryptocurrency, was jailed last month on fraud charges. According to court documents, Spagni committed invoice payment fraud ten years ago while working as an IT manager for Cape Cookies, a South African cookie firm. He is accused of cheating them out of $100,000 by creating fictitious invoices from fake organisations that were tracked back to his own account.
