The Supreme Court of Pakistan has upheld the Sindh government's decision to release Omar Sheikh, the main accused in the 2002 abduction and murder of American journalist Daniel Pearl. The court gave the decision after hearing two different appeals by the Sindh government as well as Pearl's parents against the April 2 order of the Sindh High Court that had modified Sheikh's death sentence to 7-year rigorous imprisonment.
