UP, Bihar top the murder list in India, maximum killings due to "dispute": NCRB

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) on Monday published India's crime statistics for the year 2017. The statistics show a 5.9% drop in murder cases in comparison to 2016. The report tells that a total of 28,653 murder cases were registered in 2017, across the country. The states topping the murder chart were Uttar Pradesh with 1,051 murders and Bihar with 993 murders followed by Maharashtra with 824 murders.
