Women's eye gouged for resisting rape attempt in Pune

In a heinous incident, a 37-year-old woman's eyes were gouged out by a man after the woman resisted an attempt to rape by the man in Maharashtra's Pune. The barbaric incident took place on Wednesday at Nhavera village in Pune's Shirur tehsil. The victim woman had gone out to defecate in the open when the accused grabbed her from behind and started forcing himself on her. The woman was stabbed in the eye with a sharp-edged weapon.
