12.5% of all deaths in India are due to air pollution: Study

A study released on World Environment Day which states that air pollution has become a national emergency after it caused nearly 1 lakh deaths of children under the age of 5 in India every year. It stated that air pollution is responsible for 12.5% of all the deaths in the country. The report said that on an average, 8.5 out of every 10,000 children in the nation die before the age of 5.
