17 of 21 States shows decline in sex ratio at birth

As per Niti Aayog report on sex ratio at birth (SRB), 17 major states of the country registered a decline in the number of girl children born by sex-selective abortions. Gujarat is worst affected with an alarming dip of 53 points followed by Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, HP, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. Punjab with a rise of19 points tops the list of states with improvement followed by UP and Bihar.
