24,700 snags reported in airlines in 2017, says civil aviation minister

Civil Aviation Minister, Jayant Sinha reported to the Rajya Sabha that technical snags in aeroplanes have risen from 15,048 in 2014 to 24,700 in 2017. Of the snags in 2017, Jet Airways accounted for 9689 snags alone, with the national carrier, Air India group accounting for 4563 of them. The DGCA has issued regulations and procedures to monitor such snags and has made a list of preventive measures to reduce them
