30 monkeys stuffed in gunny bags, beaten to death in Karnataka

30 monkeys were found killed at a village in Hassan district of Karnataka in the early hours of Thursday. As many as 20 other monkeys were found to be injured. However, barring 2 monkeys, others have recovered and left after local residents tended to them. The incident has been reported from the Chowdanahalli village of Belur taluk. Preliminary investigations suggest that the monkeys were poisoned and beaten up.
