40,000 students committed suicide in India in the last 5 years

A survey report from the National Crime Records Bureau has rang the alarming bell for the government. According to the survey report, India has one of the world’s highest suicide rates for youth between the age of 15 and 29 years. The report says that more than 40,000 students have committed suicide in India in the last 5 years. This shows the lack of counselling in our system that forces 1 student to commit suicide every hour.
