A 500-kg massive World War II bomb was found in Germany's financial capital Frankfurt on Wednesday. The bomb was safely detonated by the city's fire service in the early hours of Thursday. The massive bomb was unearthed during construction work on Wednesday in the densely populated Nordend area. The unexploded bomb was found next to a children's playground at a depth of about two metres. It was detonated by a controlled blast.
