Non-availability of buses forced people to own private vehicles: Public Transport Experts

On road, buses are less as compared to the users. As per Govt. data, 19L buses are running in India out of which 2.8L buses are either run by state transport undertakings or under stage carriage permits. The Union Transport Secretary said that nearly 30L buses are needed to fulfil the demands of passengers. Public transport expert has said that this unavailability of buses is the reason people are buying private vehicles.
