Allahabad Municipality served tax notification to the dead poet

Late poet and woman activist Mahadevi Varma has been served a notice by Allahabad Municipal Office, that asked Verma to appear in person, and deposit pending house tax of Rs 44,816. The person in question here has been dead for last 30 years! According to the poet’s family, they have submitted the application to convert the properties into trust but the municipal office has misplaced that file.
