Army jawans trapped after Avalanche hits army post in Siachen, Rescue operation underway

Army post in the Siachen Glacier has been hit by an avalanche. The soldiers part of a patrolling group of eight people, and were in the northern glacier when the incident happened, have been reportedly trapped in the snow. The avalanche took place at 3.30pm in the northern glacier at an altitude of 18,000 feet. The rescue operation is underway by the troops, said officials. Two civilian porters were killed.
