Arthritis drug tocilizumab not helpful in fighting coronavirus: Research

Researchers have found that arthritis drug tocilizumab is not helpful in the treatment of coronavirus. It was thought that the drug may prove to be helpful in countering excess inflammation caused due to Covid19. The drug did not appear to be reducing the risk of intubation or death in randomized, double-blinded, controlled trials conducted by the researchers. 243 hospitalised Covid19 patients took part in the trials.
