India is inching towards developing an effective vaccine against the novel coronavirus with the conclusion of phase 1 trials of the candidates by the drugmakers. Bharat Biotech is going to start phase 2 human trials for its vaccine in September. The drugmaker has completed the first phase of the trials in 11 of the 12 designated centres. The second phase of the trials is likely to begin in the first week of September.
