The Brazilian authorities are opening doors for a vast national reserve of Amazon to be enabled for mining purposes. The area is covering 46,000 square kilometers and is thought to be rich in gold and other minerals. There are 9 conservation and indigenous areas within the proximity that will continue to be legally protected, but there are concerns that these areas could be compromised.
