England is witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases with top medical officials warning that the country is at a “tipping point”. PM Boris Johnson has confirmed that a new system for local lockdowns will be introduced. According to the PM office, a three-tier local lockdown system, formally known as “Local COVID Alert Levels,” is going to be introduced. England will be placed into “medium,” “high” and “very high” alert levels.
