CIC asks RBI to reveal number of Rs 2000 printed notes

The CIC ordered the RBI to reveal the information on the new notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500 printed after the demonetization. But the bank’s subsidiary, Bhartiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Limited said that revealing such information will lead to the proliferation of counterfeit currency and economic chaos. After which CIC said that RBI has failed to explain how this disclosure will affect India’s economic interest.
