Climate disasters will lead to migration of over 4.5 crore Indians in 30 years: Report

Even as the Indian government is taking innovative steps to meet its climate change commitments, a report titled 'Costs of climate inaction: displacement and distress migration', has claimed that more than 4.5 crore people will be forced to migrate from their homes in India by 2050 due to climate disasters such as floods, droughts, and cyclones. The number is 3 times the current rate of migration in the country.
