The word "lockdown" has been literally used so many times this year due to the coronavirus pandemic that the Collins Dictionary has named it as the word of the year. "It is a unifying experience for billions of people across the world, who have had collectively to play their part in combating the spread of COVID-19," publishers Harper Collins said. The top 10 words of the year include "Coronavirus" and "social distancing".
