Coronavirus: President gives nod to stricter punishments for attacks against health workers

President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday gave his nod for the promulgation of The Epidemic Diseases (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 to bring in stricter punishments for attacks against health workers after multiple incidents of attack against the health workers were reported in the country. The Union Cabinet had on Wednesday had approved the declaration of the Ordinance to amend the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
