Men are still dominant in our thinking as almost everywhere man-symbol figure can be witnessed be it the stop board or the traffic lights. One doesn't take note of the gender of the sign but in subtle ways the 'man' becomes the representation for 'all'. To counter that and to bring some semblance of gender equality the Dadar area in Mumbai is now also using a woman figure in traffic lights and signal boards.
