Death toll in Maharashtra due to rain, landslides goes beyond 100, more than 80,000 moved to safe areas

The death toll in Maharashtra due to landslides triggered by incessant rains and floods has gone beyond 100. This includes the 36 deaths that happened due to a landslide in the coastal Raigad district. "Thirty-three dead bodies recovered, 52 still missing. Rescue operation will resume in the morning. A total of 32 houses have been destroyed," Maharashtra Minister Eknath Shinde said. Over 80,000 people have been moved to safe places.
