Demonetization caused growth in unemployment? 50 lakh people lost jobs

A report by the Centre for Sustainable Employment has suggested that demonetization might have cause growth in unemployment. The report, 'State of Working India 2019' has revealed that nearly 50 lakh people have lost their jobs from 2016 till 2018 and that the decline started with the demonetization in November 2016. The report also says that the direct relation between unemployment and demonetization cannot be found.
