For the first time, e-goods made in India pull ahead of imports

The Indian government is promoting local manufacturing through their “make in India” movement rigorously. As a result of that, domestic production of electronics has moved ahead of imports for the first time in 2016-17 where domestic electronics production stood at $49.5 Billion and $43 Billion were spent on imports. The government has a plan to achieve $1 trillion by the year 2022 through domestic digital production.
