France becomes 1st nation to ban breast implants linked to rare cancer

On Thursday, France became the first nation in the world to ban certain types of breast implants which have been linked to a rare form of cancer. The ANSM said that the ban has come as a safety measure keeping in mind that it is rare but dangerous. The risk is linked to anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, which is a rare type of cancer which attacks the immune system. 59 cases of cancer among French implant wearers were recorded.
