Global coronavirus cases surpass 1 million: Tally by Johns Hopkins University

According to a tally by Johns Hopkins University, the count of cases of the novel coronavirus across the world has breached 1 million mark. The virus has killed more than 51,000 globally with the largest number of deaths in Italy, followed by Spain and the United States. According to another tally, the first 100,000 cases were reported in around 55 days and the first 500,000 in 76 days. Over 2 lakh people have recovered.
