Gujarat government proposes 5-year-jail term under new love jihad law

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani-led Gujarat government has proposed stringent punishment including a 5-year-jail-term and Rs. 2 lakh penalty against forced religious conversions through marriage. Gujarat government is going to follow Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh governments to bring a new love jihad law. A proposal to amend the Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act, 2003 was submitted in the Gujarat assembly on Tuesday.
