Uttar Pradesh police have filed 19 First Information Reports in the aftermath of the Hathras case. In one of the reports, the police have claimed that the family of the victim was offered Rs. 50 lakh to "speak untruths against the government." As per the report, an unknown "journalist tried to coax the victim's brother to record the bite of parents saying they were not satisfied with the UP government."
