In a historic achievement, both Argentina and Algeria have been declared 'Malaria-free' by the World Health Organization (WHO). WHO's director general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that this should serve as a model for the other countries working to end Malaria. The last reported cases of Malaria in Argentina and Algeria took place in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Free diagnosis and treatment helped in this cause.
