ICAR working on microbial consortium that can decompose paddy stubble in 25 days

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is currently testing a microbial consortium to decompose paddy stubble. The initial test results show that the microbial consortium can decompose paddy stubble in 25 days. “We had been working on the microbial consortium for a couple of years after the happy seeder, which is used for straw management, was introduced," said Trilochan Mohapatra, director-general ICAR.
