Researchers said that nearly 800 people died globally due to misinformation related to coronavirus. The study says about 5800 people were admitted to hospital due to false information on social media & many died due to drinking methanol or alcohol-based cleaning products as they believed it to be a cure for the virus. Many victims followed advice mirroring reliable medical info like eating garlic, large quantities of vitamins.
