The Navy has deployed 2 warships in the Gulf of Oman for the security of Indian vessels. This move comes in the wake of 2 foreign oil tankers being attacked in the critical shipping lane amid the escalating tensions between US & Iran. They have deployed INS Chennai & INS Sunayna to reassure Indian flagged vessels operating in the region. The navy is also carrying out aerial surveillance with its P-8I aircraft in the aea.
