India behind Pakistan, Somalia in containing deaths due to Pneumonia: UNICEF

According to a UNICEF 2018 report, India is still behind Pakistan, Bangladesh and Somalia in preventing deaths due to pneumonia. India is just behind Nigeria with 1.27 lakh children succumbing to pneumonia in 2018. 1.67 lakh children died due to the disease in Nigeria. 8,000,00 children under the age of five lost their lives because of the epidemic, last year. UNICEF says a child succumbs to the disease every 39 seconds.
