India demands compensation for expenses caused due to climate change

The Union Environment Ministry said it is seeking compensation for the losses caused to the country due to climate change. “Our ask is this: there should be a compensation for expenses incurred, and it should be borne by developed nations,” senior environment ministry official Rameshwar Prasad Gupta said. The demand is likely to be raised when global leaders meet in Glasgow, Scotland, for the annual COP summit.
