India has taken very significant steps to fight climate change: Prakash Javdekar

Union Minister Prakash Javdekar, while speaking at the fourth edition of the virtual Ministerial on Climate Action, said that India has taken some significant steps to counter the climate change. Javdekar said that India achieved a reduction of 21% in emission intensity of its GDP between 2005 and 2014. “India’s total forest and tree cover is 8,07,276 sq. km which is 24.56% of the total geographical area of the country," he said.
