India successfully conducts 1st night trial of Agni-II Missile in Odisha

India has successfully conducted the first night trial of Agni-II missile from Dr Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast. The Agni-II missile has a strike range of 2000km, is an IRBM, 20-m long 2 stage ballistic missile with a launch weight of 17 tonnes and can carry a payload of 1000kg. The entire trial trajectory was tracked by a battery of radars, observation stations, electro-optic instruments & 2 naval ships.
