Indian consumers’ mood worsened to a 5-year low: RBI

In last few years, consumer sentiments in India worsened and now it is an almost 5 year low, since March 2015. In Jan the current situation index fell to 83.7 where 100 is the dividing line between optimism and pessimism, as per RBI survey. Consumers have reduced spending and companies too cut back on production, the survey added. Capacity utilization has also fell while the gap between actual and potential production increased.
