Indian Cop honoured posthumously for contribution to UN peacekeeping

UN Secretary-Gen Antonio Guterres, posthumously honoured Indian police officer Jitendra Kumar with prestigious Dag Hammarskjold medal for sacrificing his life during the world body's peacekeeping mission in the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo. Kumar is among 119 men & women to be awarded the medal for courage & sacrifice in the line of duty. India's envoy to the UN Syed Akbaruddin received the award on his behalf.
