For the first time in the history of the India-United States relationship, the Indian flag will be hosted at New York's Times Square on August 15- the Indian Independence Day. The tri-colour will be unfurled by a leading group of India-origin people in the country. The flag hoisting ceremony will be followed by the annual tradition of illuminating the Empire State Building in hues of the tricolour.
